President’s Welcome

Happy Spring 2023!

Welcome to all who are part of this amazing group. If you are new, we welcome you. If you have been with us for a while, thank you for your continued participation and for making this association successful!  I hope you all have enjoyed the academic year 2022-2023 thus far. With enrollment concerns, mental health issues on the rise and continued safety at all of our colleges, it certainly has been another challenging and exciting year.

You may have noticed a few changes this year. We are trying out a new time for our annual conference. This year it will be held on June 8th and 9th at Austin Community College, Highland Campus. We are expecting the timeframe to be conducive to expanded participation. This conference is a great way to collaborate, network and learn more about the important items that are impacting the field of Student Affairs.  We look forward to seeing you all again in Austin.

TACCSAA would not be successful without the current TACCSAA Board of Directors. They are Ashlie Resendez, President-Elect; Dr. Rosemary Coffman, Vice President of Finance; Dr. Edrel Stoneham, Vice President of Membership and Communication; Katrina Ricks, Secretary and Dr. Mike Jenkins, Past-President.  Your officers have worked tirelessly to ensure this community of professionals remains strong, vibrant, informed, and connected. If you have ever thought about serving on the TACCSAA Board, now is the time. We are in need of energetic, enthusiastic professionals to move into leadership roles within the organization. If you are interested, please contact any of the current Board members to see how you can become involved.

The work you do every day is life changing for our students and TACCSAA is committed to providing you with the resources and networking opportunities to enhance your daily work and find support along the way.  Thank you for your service to the community college students of Texas.

Respectfully,

Kris Kimbark

TACCSAA President 2021-2023
