President’s Welcome

Dear TACCSAA Members,

I hope you all are enjoying the 2023-24 academic year thus far. I welcome all you who are part of this amazing group. If you are new, we are glad to have you! If you have been with us for a while, thank you for your continued participation and for making this association successful!

I am honored to serve as your President this year. I am excited to work with all of you to make TACCSAA an even stronger organization. We have a lot of great things planned for the year, including our annual conference, which will be held in Austin this coming Spring 2024.

The higher education landscape is constantly evolving, and there are a number of key trends that are shaping the future of the industry. Some of the most important trends shaping the future of student affairs in community colleges include:

  • Increase funding for community colleges
  • Increase access to community colleges
  • Improve the quality of education at community colleges
  • Increase student success at community colleges
  • Increase diversity and inclusion at community colleges
  • Increase partnerships between community colleges and other organizations

TACCSAA is a great opportunity for leaders in higher education to come together and learn from each other. We want to focus this year on building stronger leaders, setting best practices, and addressing the key trends that are shaping the future of the industry.

I want to thank our outgoing President, Dr. Kris Kimbark, for her hard work and dedication over the past two years.  She has done an amazing job leading our association, and I am grateful for her service.

I also want to thank our Board of Directors, our committees, and our volunteers. Your dedication and commitment to TACCSAA is truly inspiring.

I am looking forward to working with all of you to make this a great year for TACCSAA!

Sincerely,

Ashlie Resendez
